Accessibility Coordination Services
Albertus Magnus College is committed to providing equal educational opportunities and full participation both in and outside the classroom for students with disabilities. No qualified student will be excluded from participation in any academic program or be subject to any form of discrimination based on his/her disability.
Albertus Magnus College does not offer specific academic programs for individuals with disabilities. However, Albertus recognizes its responsibility to provide reasonable accommodations to promote equal educational opportunity, and it is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, hereafter referred to as ADA, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, hereafter referred to as Section 504. The ADA states:
"No individual shall be discriminated against on the basis of disability in the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, or accommodations of any place of public accommodation by any private entity who owns, leases (or leases to), or operates a place of public accommodation." (28 C.F.R. § 36.201a)
Section 504 states: "No otherwise qualified individual with a disability [...] shall, solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance" (29 U.S.C. § 794).
