Staff Positions
Coordinator for Student Engagement (Search #PGS102)
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for the management of campus wide student programming efforts for both residential and commuter students. The position will work in collaboration with other offices to cosponsor educational, social and cultural programs for the entire student body. This position will also focus on the development and implementation of commuter student programs and initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as co-advisor to the Campus Activities Board
- Advise the Albertus@Night Late Night Programming events
- Establish a Commuter Council
- Coordinate Commuter engagement efforts
- Manage and maintain all student services social media accounts while supporting the student organization and other department postings
- Develop and design a monthly events calendar, distributing it across campus
- Collaborate with other departments to develop high impact programs throughout the year, specifically centered around celebrating diversity and inclusion
- Assist with New Student Orientation, including the Orientation Leader and Peer Mentor training programs
- Work in partnership with Student Health Services to develop and promote health and wellness awareness programs and initiatives
- Promote student involvement, engagement, and success by providing social, educational, and recreational programming, planned to enhance co-curricular learning and developing a sense of community.
- Represent the office at institution wide events, both on and off campus
- This is a twelve-month full-time position that is live-in with rotating residential life on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience working in Student Activities, Student Involvement, New Student Orientation and student organizations and student programming. Demonstrate a history of building teams and increasing student involvement and retention. Previous experience serving in an on-call rotation and responding to student concerns. Must have a familiarity of working with First Generation College students and working with diverse student populations.
Education:
Bachelors Degree Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of student engagement, success and retention initiatives in higher education
- Experience utilizing student development best practices in successful student outreach services
- Ability to lead and motivate others
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Gmail application
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:

Full-Time Faculty Positions
Assistant Professor: Interactive Design (Search #FAC100)
Program Overview:
The Department of Visual and Performing Arts is seeking a qualified candidate to develop programming in new media design, including game and interactive design. Teaching opportunities include 3D Game Design, 2D Game Design, Animation Studio, Digital Modeling and Visual Effects, VR/AR Design. The ability to teach drawing and illustration as well as our General Education course, Evolution of Art is desirable.
The successful candidate will have a deep commitment to teaching and advising a diverse student population, and a broad knowledge of contemporary design practice as well as art and design history. A strong technical, theoretical and critical understanding of the place new media design can have in the context of a liberal arts curriculum is important.
Duties include teaching 4 classes per semester, serve on college committees, advise students, hold office hours, participate in commencements, planning days and convocations.
Qualifications:
A terminal degree (MFA) in a studio discipline or related field e.g., Digital Arts, Computational Arts, Interactive Multimedia, Game Design, or Communication Studies is required. A Ph.D. will also be considered if the candidate has an active creative practice.

Program Overview:
The MAATC program, the only one of its kind in Connecticut, has been in operation for over 20 years; long AATA approved, it was recently accredited by CAAHEP, in alignment with ACATE’s new requirements. The program is intended to prepare professional clinicians with deep expertise in Art Therapy and competence in mental health counseling. The curriculum includes the coursework necessary to qualify for post-graduate counselor licensure (the LPC credential). The program, which is housed in the Department of Psychology, is noteworthy for its strong empirical focus; our graduates have been awarded AATA’s Research awards for their thesis projects and frequently present at AATA conferences.
Job Overview:
Albertus Magnus College seeks to recruit a full-time faculty member (rank open) who will serve as clinical coordinator of the Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling program offered through the psychology department. In addition to teaching art therapy classes, guiding thesis projects, and serving on college committees, the clinical coordinator develops and evaluates sites for students’ clinical placements.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a graduate degree in art therapy and the ATR credential; board certification is highly desirable. Other requirements include an earned doctorate in art therapy (may be in progress at the time of appointment), clinical experience, teaching experience, and familiarity with the mental health care system in Connecticut. Other desirable characteristics included licensure (e.g., as a professional counselor) and administrative experience.

Lifeguard
Reports to:
Aquatics Director
Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations
- Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor
- Complete records and reports
- Participate in regular in-service training
- Maintain fitness level (swimming skills, strength and endurance)
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director
- Maintain cleanliness of facility
- Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
- An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures

Qualifications:

Albertus Magnus College seeks to hire part-time faculty members to teach evening undergraduate courses in Religion on the East Hartford campus. These courses are taught in a "flex" format, which involves both on-ground and online components.
