Student Services
Student Services is a division that encompasses many areas of campus that students
utilize outside the classroom. If you are interested in getting involved on campus,
there are many opportunities available. We also have services available should you
need to seek a medical or mental health professional. We service both our commuter
and residential students and are here to listen to student concerns. Our office is
located on the first floor of the Hubert Campus Center in Room 110. Please stop by

Meet the Student Services Staff
Andrew Foster
Vice President for Student Services
Andrew Foster serves as the Vice President for Student Services, overseeing the Office
of Campus Activities, the Office of Residential Life, the Office of Student Life and
Health Services. He also serves as the Title IX Coordinator. He holds a bachelor’s
degree from Sacred Heart University and a masters of business administration from
Albertus Magnus College. In his free time, Andrew enjoys watching the New York Giants
play football, cooking, hiking Sleeping Giant mountain and spending time with his
family.

Awilda Burroughs
Operations Assistant
Awilda Burroughs is the Operations Assistant for Student Services. She is currently
in her second year at Albertus Magnus College. Awilda is a student in the Accelerated
Degree Program at Albertus Magnus College, she is pursuing her Bachelor Degree in
Business Management. She is fluent in Spanish. She resides in Hamden, CT. Her hobbies
are cooking, shopping and traveling.

Erin Morrell
Associate Dean for Campus Activities & Orientation
Erin Morrell is the Associate Dean for Campus Activities and Orientation. She is currently
in her eleventh year at Albertus Magnus College. She has a bachelor of science from
the University of Connecticut and a master of arts from Fairfield University. Erin
is responsible for the overall administration of the Office of Campus Activities,
the Hubert Campus Center and the student employees. She advises the Student Government
Association and all student organizations on campus, plans leadership trainings and
coordinates all of the New Student and Transfer Orientation sessions. She also teaches
part time as an instructor on campus and advises a community service organization
at a nearby university. In her spare time she enjoys baking, reading, traveling and
having fun with her family and friends.

Malcolm Thomas
Assistant Director for Campus Activities & Assistant Hall Director
Malcolm Thomas is the Assistant Director for Campus Activities and an Assistant Hall
Director for Student Services at Albertus Magnus College. He graduated from Nichols
College May 2016 with his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has a passion
for student programming from his time worked with the Nichols student services department
during his undergraduate time. Malcolm serves as the advisor the Student Government
Association and assists in monitoring student run club and organization programs.
In his free time, he enjoys coaching youth basketball, watching basketball, bowling,
traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Shannon Lee
Director of Residential Life and Community Standards
Shannon Lee is the Director of Residential Life and Community Standards and she joined
our team spring 2019. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from James
Madison University and a Master of Science degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education
from Miami University (Ohio). Shannon recently moved to Connecticut from Boston and
is eager to continue exploring the area. In her free time she enjoys traveling, making
cheese, spending time outdoors, and playing with her hedgehog.

Jessica Wheeler
Residence Director
Jessica is the Residence Director and Deputy Title IX Coordinator. She has a Bachelor
of Arts and Science degree in Communications from Western Connecticut State University
and a Master of Science in Education from The College of Saint Rose. Jessica moved
from Boston and is excited to be back in her home state. In her free time she enjoys
working out, traveling, trying new foods, going to Taylor Swift Concerts, and she
can be found walking her dog Molly around campus regularly!

Kelsey Alexander
Program Coordinator, Department of Justice Grant
Kelsey began working for Albertus in early 2019. Prior to joining the Student Services
team, Kelsey worked for a domestic violence/sexual violence agency for five years
as a prevention educator. She believes all people have the right to a life free from
oppression-based violence. She is currently pursuing a degree in public health, and
loves hiking, going to concerts, cooking vegetarian feasts, and listening to podcasts.

Elena Tamayo-Heitz
Registered Nurse
Elena Tamayo Heitz is the Registered Nurse in Health Services and joined the Albertus
Magnus College community in Fall 2016 after 6 years of primary care nursing. Elena
has a BA in Sociology with a minor in Human Rights from the University of Connecticut
and a BS in Nursing from Quinnipiac University. As a former RA and member of the UCONN
programming board, Elena is excited to return to higher education where she can apply
her passion for holistic nursing care and healthy communities. When not on campus
Elena is having fun with her toddler, husband and two cats. She loves cooking, gardening
and spending time with her family and friends.

Jennifer Evans, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Jennifer Evans is one of the counselors on campus. She is a licensed clinical social
worker who has been in practice since 2002. She graduated from Southern CT State University
with her Bachelors in Social Work, and then studied at Fordham University to receive
her Master's Degree. In addition to her campus responsibilities, she runs a successful
private practice. Jennifer has always loved higher education and the opportunities
it brings. She enjoys creating in many forms and can often be found outside with her
husband, daughters and Labrador retriever.

Courtney Mattiace
Clinical Psychologist, Psy.D.
Courtney has been with the Counseling Center since 2018. She graduated with an undergraduate
and Masters of Arts degree from Marist College and earned her Psy.D. in clinical psychology
from the University of Hartford. She comes to Albertus Magnus College with nearly
20 years experience working in various clinical settings with diverse populations.
Areas of research have been in trauma and emotional regulation. Courtney believes
college can be both an exciting and challenging time in life and loves working with
individuals coping with this transition. She particularly enjoys working with students
struggling with anxiety, depression, bereavement, identity issues and sexuality. Additionally,
she enjoys supervising other clinicians, as well as creating and delivering professional
development and psycho-educational workshops. When not at work, Courtney loves spending
time with her husband and three children.

Elizabeth Magenheimer
Nurse Practitioner
Elizabeth Magenheimer MSN, APRN has worked at Albertus Magnus College as a family
nurse practicioner since 1982. She received her BS from Villanova University and her
Masters degree from Yale University. Elizabeth also works in primary care in New Haven
at the Fair Haven Community Health Center and teaches at Yale University School of
Nursing. She is bilingual in Spanish and English. Her special areas of interest beyond
general primary care include: Women’s health, Mindfulness Meditation and Diabetes
Care and Prevention. She lives in New Haven with her husband and has two grown sons.
She spends her free time reading, swimming at the Albertus Pool and cross country
skiing.

Matthew Balogh
Graduate Hall Director
Matt is a Graduate Hall Director in our Office of Residential Life. He is a graduate
of Central Connecticut State University with a degree in English and Linguistics.
He loves to play and listen to music, as well as watch baseball and hockey. He enjoys
talking about lots of different subjects with people, and is always willing to offer
advice.

Khanisha Moore
Graduate Hall Director
Khanisha Denise Moore is a Graduate Hall Director that graduated from Morris College
in Spring 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Khanisha serves as the
advisor for the Multicultural Club. Khanisha believes in motivating students to see
their full potential and to be all that they can be. In her free time, she enjoys
directing her church's children and youth choir, binge-watching shows and movies on
Netflix, singing, community service, and spending time with her family and friends.
