College is an exciting and challenging time. It can also be stressful because students are transitioning to a new stage in life. Due to these challenges in life, students may experience an increase in stress, anxiety, or depression. Students do not need to figure out how to cope with these challenges by themselves. The counselor encourages students to stop by or call so we can determine how to be most helpful.

What is Individual Counseling?
Individual counseling involves meeting with a clinician on a one on one basis. Counseling is a collaborative process in which you and your counselor will work together to address concerns in your life and create goals that will help you live the life you want to live.

What should I expect?
Your first counseling session is an initial assessment. During the first meeting you will be required to complete paperwork which will provide your counselor with basic demographic information and identify your areas of concern. You and your counselor will also discuss specific concerns and relevant information to determine the best level of care. At the end of the session you and your counselor will discuss any specific recommendations.
How much does it cost?
Short term counseling services are available to students at no cost.
Are Therapy Sessions Confidential?
Counseling services adhere to professional ethical standards and all state and federal laws regarding confidentiality. Once you have come to the office, we will not disclose any information without your written consent. The records at the counseling center are kept confidential and not a part of your permit college record without written consent. Confidentiality does not apply if the counselor believes that you are at an imminent danger to yourself or others.
